The 3 little girls are almost the same age, the left and the middle one are from Triplets, their third sister is still with the mother, the right child is 2 weeks younger and her mother is only 16 years old. They are all from November 2023, so they are are around 1 year and 3 months old. They should be walking and talking, instead they can hardly sit by themselves.

Zoya and Zarah are part of a triplet. The mother came with all three girls, but we felt to leave one with her, to care for. The mother is quite young and we left the most healthy girl with her. We feel the girls have been a long time left by their own. The way they react and behave, they play with their hands and feet. It is difficult to get eye contact with them and they don't grab for toys. We do see a slight change in them, they react better and smile. But we took them for an X-ray, because one of them had fevers, they are both positive for TB. We contacted the mother and grandmother to come with the third girl and also had them all checked for TB. The little girl was positive for TB, the mother and the grandmother not. So they all started on anti TB medication 2 weeks ago. They will have to take them for 6 months. We keep an eye on the mother to see that she will give the little girl her medication..

Juliet is 1 year and 3 months old, her mother is only 16 year old and we were called from the hospital for help for this little girl. We also took Juliet for tests and out of those test came that she is HIV+ and that she has TB. We also asked the mother to come for the tests and she is also HIV+ and has started the ARV medicines. Juliet is very weak and her weight is only 4 kg. Two weeks ago she was started on the anti TB medicines and today we went for the ARV's. The medicines are too strong for her small body to start together, that is why we started with the anti TB drugs and two weeks later the ARV's. In her development she is more advanced than Zoya and Zarah, she will grab for toys and can play with them, but for the rest she is very weak and is hardly gaining weight. We hope that the medicines will help her to get stronger and that she will starting to gain. She is a sweet little girl and we hope and pray that the three girls will pick up and will get stronger.

This is Benjamin he is a new-born baby and he was brought on a Sunday (16/2) by the Police. His mother has a mental problem and gave birth by herself somewhere outside, the baby dropped on the ground and when people found her, she had hidden the placenta in a dirty plastic bag and the baby was on top of it. When Benjamin came in Amecet, we took him to the doctor, who started him directly on IV. medication. He was doing fairly, until the second night, he started to poop blood cloths and even vomited some blood. This went on for several days. He got three times blood transfusion, medication, Vitamin K. We took him for an abdominal scan and the doctors were worried... We were worried, in all those years I had never had a baby pooping so much blood. We had to stop oral feeding, only give him IV fluids.
We took him to the paediatrician, he gave us advice and told us to start slowly to feed him again, cause he was loosing weight... And suddenly the bleeding stopped, it must have been haemorrhagic disease of the new born... We were very happy to see him so much better and the HB was good, no more bleeding, he is drinking well. I really was very worried about him, but it is so good that he picked up and I am also very grateful for the good medical care we got, our nurses worked long hours to sit with him during his blood transfusions and they really cared for him.
It is busy in Amecet with all those special children, who require much care, but we feel privileged to help and care for them. Pls. keep us all in your prayers...
