I realize that there are several children, where I asked prayers for, who are doing now very well, so I think it is also good to share our thanksgiving with you and one of them is Messach. He weighed 1 kg. when he came to Amecet and now he is 3 kg. On this picture he cries, he has quite a temper, you can hear his cries from far, very high pitch. And he is not smiling much... But he is such a cute little man, you can read his story in the blog of 23/7, we have tested him and he is HIV-. We have to go back to the hospital with him at the end of the month, after that he will go back to his mother!!
Then in the blog of 26/8. I asked prayers for baby James (left) we were very worried about him, he didn't pick up very fast, but slowly, he climbed out of his sickness. He started to drink better, we had to feed him for a long time by NG tube, he was just to weak to suck from the bottle..
But if you see the picture at on the right, you can see how much he has changed!!! We are very happy to see him like this and we thank you for your prayers!!!
Then we have Emmanuel. On the picture left is how he came into Amecet, his story was very sad. His mother died after giving birth and his father committed suicide the next day. They were both HIV+. The baby was brought to Amecet 6 days later and we started the medicines directly. We have brought him to the hospital for HIV test, and we are still waiting for the results. Emmanuel (Emma) is not doing good, diarrhea, vomiting, not wanting to drink, weakness etc.. so we went again to the doctor and we were told to start him on the full ARV medicines, while we are waiting for the test results. He is now 6 weeks old and his weight is 2,5 kg., he is gaining only 5 or 10 gram per week.. We are still worried about him and we ask your prayers for him.........
This is another before and after picture.... Our Solar system....
In the blog of 6/9, I shared about our solar system and that the batteries were too old to keep the power. We could use it during the day, but at night it was not working.. We had a situation with baby James, who was on the oxygen machine and the electricity fell out. The generator didn't work either and there was some panic.. I shared that we were trying to raise money to buy new batteries and do some repairs at the solar system and see on the right picture, the new batteries!!!! People reacted so generously and we could very fast get the new system to work. While I am writing this, we are on solar power and it will be able to feed the oxygen machine if we need to use it, the fridge and the lights and computer etc. We are very, very grateful to all of you who came to our rescue!!!!
The latest update, very fresh, I just got the phone call from Simon, that there is a small calf born at our farm...... So there will be more milk again for the baby's.....
